Toyota Motor makes and sells cars and other motor vehicles. The company was founded in 1937.
The 2026 qualifying date has passedThe 2026 offer is for holders who qualified on 31 March 2026. They can still receive Wallet credit until 1 February 2027. A new purchase cannot qualify for this cycle.
What you get
Toyota awards TOYOTA Wallet credit to qualifying shareholders, with the amount based on their holding and how long they held it. The balance pays for purchases at participating shops in Japan, including supermarkets and convenience stores; it is not a discount on a car.
The separate prize draw has closed
Eligible holders could also enter one draw for race-ticket pairs at Fuji Speedway or TOYOTA UPCYCLE goods. Applications closed on 15 July 2026. That deadline does not close the separate Wallet receipt window.
What it takes
You needed at least 100 Toyota ordinary shares on its Japanese shareholder register on 31 March 2026.
Minimum holding period: The entry tier has no minimum holding duration. Higher amounts depend on consecutive March and September register entries under the same shareholder number.
Less than one year
100+ shares
- TOYOTA Wallet: ¥500 credit Two or fewer consecutive register entries.
One to less than three years
100+ shares
- TOYOTA Wallet: ¥1,000 credit Three to six consecutive register entries.
Three years or more
100+ shares
- TOYOTA Wallet: ¥3,000 credit At least seven consecutive register entries.
Five years or more at the higher holding
1,000+ shares
- TOYOTA Wallet: ¥30,000 credit At least eleven consecutive register entries at the qualifying holding.
At every tier, the Wallet recipient must be an individual with a smartphone that supports contactless payment, a mobile phone number and an email address. New TOYOTA Wallet applicants also need a TOYOTA account.
A top-up does not inherit the older holding’s age
Toyota checks the same shareholder number on each 31 March and 30 September. Its example gives ¥3,000 to someone who held 100 shares for five years and recently increased to 1,000; the larger holding has not qualified for the five-year tier.
The 2021 split counts
For the five-year test, Toyota treats at least 200 shares on or before 30 September 2021 as equivalent to at least 1,000 shares from 31 March 2022 onward.
Choosing merchandise
Toyota’s public benefit terms do not state the deadline for choosing merchandise instead of the ¥30,000 Wallet credit. The Wallet receipt deadline applies to credit only.
Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. Read about the risks.
Holding through a broker
Shares must be registered in your own name.
Toyota requires an entry on its Japanese shareholder register. Its stock overview identifies BNY Mellon as the nominee for American depositary receipt holders. Toyota’s benefit documents do not say whether those holders, or investors whose shares sit in an overseas broker’s pooled account, can receive the benefit. Ask your broker about registration and delivery of the benefit documents. No broker claim route has been tested.
Other conditions
- Where the benefit applies
- Japan
- Age and residency
- The benefit notices do not state a shareholder residency restriction. TOYOTA Wallet says its app can be downloaded abroad but is intended in principle for use in Japan. QUICPay balances cannot be used in shops abroad. An overseas download does not establish that the holder can complete registration or claim the benefit.
- Who else can use it
- A family member, relative or friend may receive the Wallet credit on the shareholder’s behalf.
How to claim
Use the shareholder website address or QR code in the benefit guide enclosed with the annual meeting notice. The dedicated site provides the eight-character benefit code.
- 1. Open the shareholder websiteFollow the address or QR code in your mailed benefit guide and apply to receive Wallet credit. Keep the benefit code shown on screen.
- 2. Set up the recipient’s WalletUse the smartphone and account details of the person receiving the credit. Install or log in to TOYOTA Wallet, then choose and activate QUICPay or iD as instructed. A credit card is not required.

Dates
- Qualifying ownership date
Toyota checks its shareholder register on 31 March each year.- Claim by
Complete entry of the benefit code in TOYOTA Wallet by 23:59 on 1 February 2027. This is the deadline to receive the credit, not its spending expiry.- Expiry
- TOYOTA Wallet applies different service rules. QUICPay prepaid and bonus balances each expire at the end of the month three years after that balance last changed; expiry starts at 21:00 on that day. The iD / Mastercard card lasts four years from enrolment or renewal. A payment or top-up during its renewal window renews it automatically; otherwise the remaining balance lapses at the end of the expiry month.
Practical notes
Keep the same shareholder number
Toyota warns that a changed shareholder number can break the holding-period count. Share lending across a record date can also cost voting or benefit rights. Check your broker’s arrangements before relying on a long holding period.
The iD renewal window
For iD / Mastercard, a payment or top-up counts towards automatic renewal from one year before the card expires until the 25th of the month before the expiry month. This is a Wallet service condition, separate from the shareholder credit receipt deadline.

Museum curry and repurposed car materials
Toyota added a merchandise alternative for the highest Wallet tier. The choices included racing goods, sports merchandise with Toyota Museum curry, and TOYOTA UPCYCLE items. Each choice had a 2,000-unit limit, with a lottery if applications exceeded it. Unsuccessful applicants could choose a ¥10,000 QUO Card or the ¥30,000 Wallet credit.

Toyota introduces shareholder benefits
Toyota launched the programme to encourage longer shareholding and help investors understand the group’s business by using its services. Its first qualifying date was 31 March 2025. Wallet credit and a separate prize draw were part of the original offer.
The original draw included a tote made with nylon fabric of the kind used in airbags and surplus seatbelt material, plus a pen case made from seat-leather remnants.
