Royal Caribbean Group
Onboard credit
What you get
You get credit to spend aboard an eligible Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity or Silversea cruise. The amount depends on the number of nights. It goes to the cabin you occupy and does not reduce your fare.
| Nights | USD |
|---|---|
| Up to 5 | US$50 |
| 6–13 | US$100 |
| 14+ | US$250 |
World Cruise: US$1,000 onboard credit
World Cruise credit can be used for shore excursions. You may request a refund of unused credit to your original payment method.
If your ship uses another currency
The cruise line converts the US-dollar amount into the onboard currency at its own exchange rate.
What it takes
You need at least 100 Royal Caribbean Group common shares (NYSE: RCL). Ownership date: You must still own the shares at the time of sailing.
You must occupy the cabin receiving the credit. Your booking must have been made on or after 1 June 2023.
Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. This page is not investment advice. Read about the risks.
Holding through a broker
Nominee holders must provide proof of ownership.
Both claim forms accept a brokerage statement. You apply directly to the cruise line. We have not tested a claim through any broker, ISA, SIPP or retirement account.
How to claim
- 1. Choose the form for your cruise lineUse the Royal Caribbean/Celebrity form or the separate Silversea form linked below. Submit at least three weeks before sailing.
- 2. Attach your statement and booking detailsGive your ship, sailing date and reservation number, then attach your proof of ownership. The Royal Caribbean/Celebrity form also asks for your name and email and can take up to ten reservations per request.
- 3. Wait for the cruise line’s responseBoth forms say to expect a response within seven days. That is a response time, not a promise of approval. Approved credit is added to your cabin’s onboard account when you sail.
Use a brokerage statement less than 90 days old. Highlight its date, your holding of at least 100 RCL shares and your name, which must match the reservation. The Royal Caribbean/Celebrity form accepts a PDF or image up to 2.5 MB. We have not checked Silversea’s upload limits.

Practical notes
You can claim on another cruise
Apply for each eligible booking. A previous approval does not arrange credit for your next trip.
Joint holdings and solo travel
For joint holdings used to claim for separate cabins, you need at least 100 shares per cabin. Solo guests paying 200% of the applicable fare receive the full credit.
Unused credit
Unused credit is lost after the final night and cannot be exchanged for cash. World Cruises have the separate refund exception described above.
Check other offers with the cruise line
Check with the cruise line before combining the credit with another offer. Its FAQ gives no clear rule on this.
The offer can change
Royal Caribbean can limit availability, change the terms or withdraw the benefit without notice. Check the terms before each claim.
History of the perk
An older, undated issuer letter offered US$200 for 10–13 nights, included Azamara and accepted claims by post, fax or email. Those instructions have been superseded by the current schedule and online forms. The letter does not establish when those changes happened.
-
Current offer’s booking cutoff
The current terms apply to bookings made on or after this date. They do not say this was when the credit amounts changed.
