Kikkoman Corporation is the Japanese group whose soy sauce business began in Noda. Its products extend beyond soy sauce to drinks and wine.
The next claim window has not openedKikkoman’s annual programme is awaiting its next announced cycle. The published 2026 gift cycle has been delivered; the company has not yet published the terms or dates for 2027.
What you get
Kikkoman sends qualifying shareholders products from its own group.
Kikkoman’s 2026 programme gave holders of 100–499 shares a box of group products valued by the company at ¥1,000. The box rose to ¥2,000 at 500 shares. From 5,000 shares, holders could choose a larger product gift, group-made wine or a donation. These are product values, not cash payments.
What it takes
You need at least 100 Kikkoman common shares listed in Tokyo (2801). Ownership date: The next cycle’s record dates have not been published. For the completed 2026 gift, Kikkoman required at least 100 shares on both 30 September 2025 and 31 March 2026, under the same shareholder number.
Minimum holding period: For the 2026 gift, at least six months was required, defined as two consecutive September and March registers under the same shareholder number.

Could a new holding qualify for the next gift?
Kikkoman has not published its 2027 terms. For the 2026 gift, the holding had to appear under the same shareholder number on the 30 September 2025 register as well as the 31 March 2026 register. The equivalent September 2026 register has already passed. Kikkoman has not said whether the next gift will use the same test; check its announcement before buying for the perk.
Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. Read about the risks.
Holding through a broker
Shares must be registered in your own name.
Kikkoman checks the shareholder register and requires the same shareholder number at two consecutive record dates. Its public terms do not confirm an overseas pooled-nominee route. Ask your broker whether your holding appears on that register and whether it handles the gift; we have not tested a broker route.
Kikkoman does not say whether overseas shareholders can claim.
How to claim
Kikkoman checks names, shareholder numbers and holdings on its shareholder register.
- 1. Check the announced cycleRead Kikkoman’s latest announcement before relying on a gift. The published terms cover 2026; the next cycle is not yet announced.
- 2. Keep the same shareholder numberThe published rules require two consecutive September and March register entries. Kikkoman warns that a change of shareholder number removes eligibility.
- 3. Wait for Kikkoman’s mailingThe entry tiers receive product boxes. Holders at the top tier choose a gift or donation, but Kikkoman’s public page does not describe the selection method.
Dates
The published terms do not say when the benefit expires.
- Qualifying date
- The next cycle’s record dates have not been published. For the completed 2026 gift, Kikkoman required at least 100 shares on both 30 September 2025 and 31 March 2026, under the same shareholder number.
- Benefit issued
- September for all tiers of the published 2026 cycle.
- Continued eligibility
- For the 2026 gift, Kikkoman used the lower share count at the two record dates. Holding 100 shares in September and 500 in March therefore earned the 100-share gift.
Practical notes
Account changes can break the holding period
Kikkoman lists inheritance, a broker transfer or selling and buying back with differently recorded names or addresses, and stock lending among events that can change the shareholder number. Ask your securities company how it records a proposed change.
Overseas delivery is not confirmed
The public gift terms do not say whether Kikkoman sends boxes outside Japan. A share dealing service does not, by itself, establish a delivery route.
The donation is made by Kikkoman
At the highest tier, Kikkoman pays the ¥6,000 donation on the shareholder’s behalf. It does not issue a donation receipt to the shareholder.
Company story
Eight soy sauce businesses, then wine
Kikkoman’s forerunner, Noda Shoyu, formed in 1917 when eight family companies merged in Noda. In 1939 it built the Goyogura to preserve traditional methods and make soy sauce for the Imperial Household.
The wine option has its own place in that history. Kikkoman established Katsunuma Yoshu in 1962; the company is now Manns Wine. A shareholder gift from the soy sauce group can therefore be wine from its wine business.
