Euronext Paris: GET

Getlink

Eurotunnel LeShuttle discount

What shareholders get 30% off From 750 shares

What you get

You get 30% off the standard fare on up to six single LeShuttle vehicle crossings a calendar year, enough for three return trips. The discount comes off the vehicle fare when you book.

What it takes

Qualifying shares: Getlink ordinary shares or CREST Depository Interests (CDIs).

Standard route

750+ shares

Other qualification
Hold the qualifying shares or CDIs continuously in the same account for more than three months before you book.
  • LeShuttle standard fare: 30% off Up to six single crossings a calendar year.

2007 exchange participants

25+ shares

Closed to new entrants
Yes
Other qualification
You held more than 1,000 old Eurotunnel units in one registered account, continuously for more than three months, as at 15 May 2006, and exchanged them all in the 2007 offer. You must still hold at least 25 registered GET shares or qualifying CDIs when you book.
  • LeShuttle standard fare: 30% off The same crossing allowance. Buying 25 shares today does not qualify you.

You must be an individual shareholder and travel in the vehicle booked in your name.

Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. This page is not investment advice. Read about the risks.

Holding through a broker

Two routes qualify.

You can hold shares registered in your own name with Getlink. Société Générale Securities Services can manage them directly, or a bank or broker can manage them while keeping them registered in your name.

Alternatively, you can hold CDIs through Computershare Company Nominees Limited, the nominee named in the terms. A CDI represents a Getlink share in the UK settlement system.

An ordinary broker holding that does not register your name with Getlink does not qualify. Ask your provider whether it can register your shares or move them to the Computershare nominee, what that costs and when your holding period starts. We have not tested any broker’s transfer or claim service.

Practical notes

Compare the final fare

The 30% comes off the standard fare and cannot be combined with another promotion. Compare the shareholder price with the other fares on offer for your crossing.

The French terms are stricter

The English translation says “at least three months”; the governing French terms say “more than three months”. For the old Eurotunnel units, English says at least 1,000 and French says more than 1,000. This page follows the French. If you sit on either boundary, ask Getlink to confirm your eligibility.

Check wrappers and unusual holdings

The terms say nothing about ISAs or SIPPs. Where a French holding splits ownership from the right to income, only the income-right holder (usufruitier) can claim. Ask Getlink how your holding is treated.

Exceptional disruption

Getlink may postpone shareholder-rate crossings without compensation if its transport system is exceptionally overloaded. Its normal booking and carriage terms also apply.

Old Eurotunnel travel rights

Le Shuttle Club preserves separate rights for some former TNU shareholders. You cannot get those rights by buying Getlink shares now. If you already hold them, read the club documents linked below and ask Getlink to confirm your entitlement and annual activation fee.

History of the perk

Today’s Getlink discount and the old Eurotunnel travel rights are different schemes. Some early privileges survived the restructuring in a separate club; today’s discount did not replace them all.

  1. Renewed through 2028

The board renewed the scheme on unchanged terms from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028. The terms allow annual renewal after that but promise nothing beyond the current period.

  2. London listing ended; UK CDIs continued

Getlink’s secondary London listing ended when Euronext London closed. Its notice said the Paris listing continued and nothing changed for UK CDI holders.

  3. Eurotunnel’s parent became Getlink

Groupe Eurotunnel became Getlink and kept the GET stock code.

  4. Earlier privileges moved into Le Shuttle Club

After TNU PLC merged into the group, The Channel Tunnel Group took over its surviving travel rights through Le Shuttle Club. Members no longer had to keep the old shares but paid an annual fee to activate their rights. Anyone who exchanged their TNU shares in 2007 was excluded from the club and could qualify for the Getlink scheme instead.

  5. What the old club rules preserved

The 1987 categories gave either unlimited crossings or two return trips a year for £1 from the UK or €1.50 from France per single crossing. The 1990 categories gave 50% off unlimited trips or one return a year. The 1996 category gave six singles a year, but the 2010 rules state 30% while the 2018 questions and answers say 50%, so existing holders should confirm the rate with Getlink. These are historic entitlements. You cannot get them by buying shares today.
