Practical notes
Apply directly with your brokerage statement
First Mint accepts brokerage statements, so you can apply yourself without asking your broker to do it. We have not tested this route with any broker.
Retirement accounts
First Mint gives no separate rules for shares held in retirement or other tax-advantaged accounts.
Compare the delivered price
Add shipping, taxes and duties, then compare with other sellers. You may find a better price elsewhere.
Check delivery before ordering
Shipping costs appear before payment. First Mint will not ship to someone else in another country. Check your local duties and taxes before ordering. First Mint does not list every country it delivers to.
Sign for the parcel yourself
First Mint says letting someone else sign, or authorising delivery without a signature, voids shipping insurance.
All sales are final
First Mint says all sales are final, with no refunds for changes in the silver price, shipping delays or limited stock.
History of the perk
The discount predates First Mint’s retail launch. We have not found when it rose from US$0.50 per ounce.
