SkiStar
Shareholder discount
Covers ski passes, lessons, rental and SkiStar shops for your spouse or partner and children under 18 living at home, too. Accommodation and food are excluded. Hold the shares in good time, about five weeks before booking.
200 shares or moreSkiStar runs alpine resorts in Sweden and Norway, including Sälen, Åre, Vemdalen, Trysil and Hemsedal. Visitors ski there in winter and ride bikes in summer.
What you get
Shareholders get 15% off the regular price of SkiStar All Year, SkiPass, the Small and Medium versions of SälenPasset, ÅrePasset, TrysilPasset and HemsedalPasset, ski school and activities, ski and bike rental, and products at skistarshop.com and in SkiStarshop and Concept Store shops.
What it covers on a trip
On a ski trip, the discount can cover the lift pass, lessons and rented equipment, but not the bed or meals. Work out the saving from those items, not the whole holiday bill.
What it takes
You need at least 200 SkiStar shares.
Minimum holding period: About five weeks before booking.
You also need a SkiStar customer profile matched to your holding. Buying the shares does not switch the discount on by itself.
Which shares to look for
SkiStar’s B shares trade on Nasdaq Stockholm’s Large Cap segment as SKIS B. The discount pages say only “200 shares in SkiStar” and do not name a share class.
Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. Read about the risks.
Holding through a broker
Shares held in your own name qualify.
SkiStar accepts shares in a VP account, a securities account (depå) or an ISK. It handles foreign holders manually, and its investor page requires a certificate showing personal ownership and the right type of holding.
SkiStar does not say whether an overseas pooled nominee account or tax account meets that test. Ask SkiStar what it will accept, then ask your broker whether it can issue the certificate. We have not tested a broker route.

How to claim
SkiStar matches Swedish shareholders against Euroclear Sweden’s owner register, using the full personal identity number on their profile. Foreign shareholders and guardians of holders under 18 must send a certificate showing that the holder personally owns the shares in the right type of holding.
- 1. Register with SkiStarCreate a customer profile on skistar.com. If you are a Swedish shareholder and already a customer, check that My Page shows your full personal identity number. Logging in with BankID fills it in automatically.
- 2. Foreign holders and under-18s: contact SkiStarContact SkiStar about ten banking days into the month after you buy, with the certificate described above. SkiStar then adds the shares to your customer profile. A guardian makes this contact for a shareholder under 18.
- 3. Wait for the monthly updateSkiStar requires the holding to be in place in good time, about five weeks before booking. Its database updates about ten banking days after month-end, and registration happens in the month after settlement.
- 4. Book while logged inLog in on skistar.com or in the SkiStar app. The discount comes off at checkout, so check that it appears before you pay. SkiStar’s formal terms require the shareholder to make the booking.

Practical notes
Booking for your family
SkiStar extends the discount to your family, but its formal terms require the shareholder to make the booking. Its pages do not explain how a family member books alone, so ask before your partner books a lift pass without you.
Compare campaign prices
The discount applies only to regular prices, so a campaign or Super Deals price gets nothing further. Check whether that price beats the discounted regular price before you choose.
Buying in a shop
SkiStar lists skistarshop.com and its SkiStarshop and Concept Store shops as covered, but its instructions describe only logging in on skistar.com or the app. Ask customer service how to identify yourself before relying on the discount in a shop.
Where SkiStar’s pages differ
The consumer and investor pages name Hammarbybacken, but the full terms omit it. The consumer page excludes Large SummerPass and the Sälen autumn-break pass, while the full terms offer SummerPass without that distinction and the investor page includes Bike and TrailPass. The consumer page requires children to live at home; the other pages do not. This page uses the narrower family test. Ask SkiStar before relying on disputed scope.
Company story
From one slope in Lindvallen
SkiStar traces its start to 20 August 1975. Brothers Mats and Erik Paulsson went to Lindvallen in Sälen to look at a cabin and left with a holiday village of 37 cabins and one ski slope.
