Kesko
Shareholder’s K-Plussa
For Plussa members in Finland who hold at least 100 Kesko shares and have €3,000 of personal registered K Group purchases over the past 12 months.
100 shares or moreKesko is the Finnish retail group behind the K-Citymarket, K-Supermarket and K-Market grocery chains.
What you get
Plussa is K Group’s customer loyalty scheme. Shareholder’s K-Plussa gives your Plussa household its Best Customer membership level. You get more personalised OmaPlussa offers each week, offers with a higher discount than usual and offers on new products. Kesko’s programme pages promise no fixed saving on your whole shop.
One person qualifies; the household benefits
Your own purchases must meet the spending test. Your partner’s purchases cannot top up your total, even though everyone in your Plussa household receives the resulting membership level.
What the shares change
A household can reach Best Customer without shares by spending more than €6,000 together over the preceding 12 months. The shareholder route needs at least €3,000, but only your own purchases count. If your household already qualifies, the shareholder route gives you the same membership level, not a higher one.
An Avios connection
A Best Customer who is also the main member of their Plussa household can exchange Plussa money and Finnair Plus Avios in either direction. This is an option to exchange rewards you already have, not an extra grant of airline points. Check the current terms with Plussa before exchanging.
What it takes
You need at least 100 Kesko A and/or B shares, combined.
Minimum holding period: None stated on the public programme page.
You must live permanently in Finland, have a Finnish postal address and belong to Plussa. You also need at least €3,000 of your own registered purchases at K Group stores in Finland over the preceding 12 months.
Both share classes count
Kesko’s A shares trade as KESKOA and its B shares as KESKOB on Nasdaq Helsinki. You can combine the two classes to meet the holding requirement.
Before buyingA perk is a minor benefit of owning a share, not a reason to buy one. Share prices fall as well as rise, and dealing costs, spreads and tax can exceed a perk’s value. Read about the risks.
Holding through a broker
Kesko accepts personal holdings in a book-entry account (arvo-osuustili) or an equity savings account (osakesäästötili). Its privacy notice says it checks the shareholder list maintained by Euroclear Finland, and its public programme terms do not explain how it checks an overseas nominee holding. Ask Plussa whether it can verify your holding. Ask your broker separately what evidence it can supply. No broker route has been tested. An overseas holding does not remove the residence requirement.

Practical notes
Who it suits
The offer suits Finnish residents who already shop at K Group. Kesko’s programme pages give no cash value, and your saving depends on the offers you use.
Company story
A retailer-owned beginning
Kesko began in 1940 when four regional wholesalers founded by retailers merged. Managing director E.J. Railo invented the name. Kesko’s history says it means nothing in Finnish but sounds like keskittyminen, the word for concentration: four wholesalers becoming one national business.
Why Kesko rewards its shoppers
Kesko launched Shareholder’s K-Plussa in March 2023. It reported a 27% rise in Finnish retail shareholders the year before and a record 87,113 registered Finnish shareholders by that February. Hanna Jaakkola, who led investor relations, said Kesko believed these people also wanted to favour its stores. The programme would make share ownership “more visible in everyday life” and encourage holders to “concentrate their purchases”.
