Duolingo makes an education app for languages, maths and music.

What we found

Duolingo’s investor FAQ describes its Nasdaq shares and stock administration. It does not describe a free subscription, discount or other consumer reward for shareholders.

Free courses and paid subscriptions

Duolingo says everyone can access its courses free. Super Duolingo and Duolingo Max are paid subscriptions that add features. Free course access is a public offer, not a shareholder reward.

What the FAQ leaves open

The FAQ does not prove that Duolingo has never offered a shareholder benefit. Before expecting a subscription from owning DUOL shares, ask Duolingo whether a current shareholder offer exists.

Company story

Duolingo renamed its premium subscription from Duolingo Plus to Super Duolingo in 2022. Its team looked to video games, anime and comic books for inspiration, and chose a name that was easy to translate into many languages.
