Investor Benefits Card

What shareholders got Investor Benefits Card Discontinued 2,000 shares or more

This scheme has endedArdent Leisure discontinued the Investor Benefits Program in 2019 because fewer shareholders were using the card. The notice appeared between archived captures dated 24 August and 18 October; it gives no exact end date.

History of the perk

The card once covered bowling, arcades and health clubs as well as the Gold Coast attractions. Ardent narrowed the programme in 2018 and discontinued it the following year.

  1. Programme discontinued

Ardent’s page read “Ardent Leisure Group Limited has discontinued its Investor Benefits Program and therefore will cease issuing Investor Benefits Cards”, citing a decline in use. The terms were still live on 24 August 2019 and the notice was in place by 18 October 2019.

  2. Narrowed to the Gold Coast parks

After the bowling and health club sales, the card covered Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, SkyPoint Observation Deck and SkyPoint Climb only.

  3. Widest programme

The card covered the Gold Coast parks, AMF and Kingpin bowling, Playtime arcades in Australia and New Zealand, and Goodlife and HYPOXI clubs. Cards went to holders of at least 2,000 securities each August or September.

What shareholders got

Coast Entertainment previously traded as Ardent Leisure Group, which offered the Investor Benefits Card. Ardent discontinued the programme in 2019; no replacement appears in the company’s current investor information.

Holders of at least 2,000 securities could request an annual Investor Benefits Card from the share registry. From October 2018, the card covered Dreamworld, WhiteWater World, SkyPoint Observation Deck and SkyPoint Climb on the Gold Coast. The issuer’s page said the terms came with the card; the material reviewed does not establish the discount amounts.

Who qualified

You needed at least 2,000 Ardent Leisure Group securities.

Shares held through a broker

Ardent said eligible investors requested the card from the registry, Link Market Services, but did not say whether a holding through a broker or custodian qualified.

Previous claim process

  1. 1. Request the card from the registryEligible investors contacted Link Market Services by phone or post to request their card, which was renewed annually. The terms of use came with the card.

Ardent did not publish what proof the registry needed before issuing a card.

Practical notes

The programme ended before the Main Event sale

Ardent discontinued the card nearly three years before it sold Main Event in 2022. References linking the card’s withdrawal to that sale give the wrong explanation.
